*Both brands are cruelty-free according to Cruelty-Free Kitty. Makeup Maven, Kayla, says: Kat Von D Kitten Mini Shade + Light Contour Duo in 'Light' is $23 for 6.8 grams while LA Girl Po Contour Powder in 'Natural' is $7 for 5.6 grams. Packaging wise these are obviously a bit different. KVD has a lot more detail in her components and it’s nice that you have the choice of easily popping out the pans if you wanted. LA Girl is the typical plastic snap case drugstore packaging nothing really special. You also get a mirror in the KVD duo. Both components are travel-friendly.
However, LA Girl is a REALLY amazing dupe for KVD. Side by side they look identical. They feel almost the exact same but LA Girl is more buttery smooth than KVD which I found made LA Girl easier to blend. Both products have quite a bit of kickback after I dip my brush in. It’s so hard to tell these products apart not only do they look extremely similar but they perform in the exact same way.
No need to splurge for KVD - LA Girl made a fantastic dupe.
CONCLUSION Some small differences but similar overall.
