*Both brands are certified cruelty-free according to Ethical Elephant. Makeup Guru, Kayla, says:Tarte is $27 for 0.33 oz & ELF is $5 for 0.2 oz. Tarte does have a larger shade range. Both have large doe foot applicators. Both have a chemical makeup smell. Both are very full coverage. I actually think ELF is easier to blend out and work with. I have very dry under eyes and I do get a bit of creasing when I under eye conceal with Tarte. However, with ELF I get very, very little creasing. ELF did not look cakey at all. I was pleasantly surprised with just how good this ELF concealer really is. Concealing a blemish it also works very well. If you are not a die-hard Shape Tape fan I would definitely give this a try, it did not disappoint.
Also wanted to add, I have dark circles under my eyes and I usually have to color correct sometimes underneath my concealers, including with Tarte. However by buying LIGHT PEACH ELF concealer I did not have to color correct and it covered my dark circles very, very well!
Very good dupe. I would actually say the elf has more coverage and a wider range of shades including fair. Tarte is great but can cake a little under the eyes. I would recommend to give this a shot really good if not better dupe for shape tape. Good job elf !
I can attest to just how wonderful the ELF Camo concealer in Light Peach is, especially for the price! I picked it up at a Walgreens for $5.00 & it covers! I was pretty amazed. I too use color correctors & no longer have to thanks to this. Also, little creasing. It’s great. My only caveats? A little goes a long way & as with all products in a tube like this, DON’T PUMP the applicator in the tube. It can cause the product to collect at the opening & on the applicator. It’s a great item though! I will be buying again!
Elf is also cruelty free, and though tarte as a brand is also cruelty free, tarte’s parent company isn’t
I’m relatively new to makeup and I also tend to use products until they expire/run out even if I don’t 100% love them. That being said, I’ve tried a handful of different drugstore concealers... the Camo Concealer from elf is the only one I have found so far that I actually like. Great coverage without being too cakey. A little bit goes a LONG way and it does cake up if overused. I typically use the tiniest dots of it under my eyes, blemishes, and places I want to highlight and then after I blend that out I sometimes use a couple of extra small dots under the eyes for darkness/bags. I can’t speak for Shape Tape, but the elf concealer is a big winner and a staple for me.
If I am a light in tape shape what color should I get in E.L.F.?
Perfect dupe! Doesn’t crease and amazing coverage!
I have both and prefer the elf. Stays on better very little caking and wrinkling.
I absolutely love the Elf camo concealer!!! I have freckles (I love my freckles) and when I conceal my undereye area for brightening it completely conceals my freckles. And any zit scars or flaws I may have! It lasts all day and doesn’t get cakey! My favorite by far. Oh and very little goes a long way with this one!!
Honestly....I’m a bigger fan of the elf!!! I have used both and shape tape is just so thick! The elf has the same coverage but thinner!
I’m a cheap makeup shopper. My foundation is Fenty but everything else is drugstore. I’ve never tried Tarte concealer but this ELF concealer is the best!!! I bought on a whim in Walmart and it’s the perfect color and like never creases.
