Brandefy Review

*Both brands are certified cruelty-free according to Cruelty-Free Kitty. Makeup Guru, Kayla, says:Tarte is $27 for 0.33 oz & ELF is $5 for 0.2 oz. Tarte does have a larger shade range. Both have large doe foot applicators. Both have a chemical makeup smell. Both are very full coverage. I actually think ELF is easier to blend out and work with. I have very dry under eyes and I do get a bit of creasing when I under eye conceal with Tarte. However, with ELF I get very, very little creasing. ELF did not look cakey at all. I was pleasantly surprised with just how good this ELF concealer really is. Concealing a blemish it also works very well. If you are not a die-hard Shape Tape fan I would definitely give this a try, it did not disappoint.

CONCLUSION

Noticeable differences.

Also wanted to add, I have dark circles under my eyes and I usually have to color correct sometimes underneath my concealers, including with Tarte. However by buying LIGHT PEACH ELF concealer I did not have to color correct and it covered my dark circles very, very well!

Very good dupe. I would actually say the elf has more coverage and a wider range of shades including fair. Tarte is great but can cake a little under the eyes. I would recommend to give this a shot really good if not better dupe for shape tape. Good job elf !

I can attest to just how wonderful the ELF Camo concealer in Light Peach is, especially for the price! I picked it up at a Walgreens for $5.00 & it covers! I was pretty amazed. I too use color correctors & no longer have to thanks to this. Also, little creasing. It’s great. My only caveats? A little goes a long way & as with all products in a tube like this, DON’T PUMP the applicator in the tube. It can cause the product to collect at the opening & on the applicator. It’s a great item though! I will be buying again!

Elf is also cruelty free, and though tarte as a brand is also cruelty free, tarte’s parent company isn’t

I’m relatively new to makeup and I also tend to use products until they expire/run out even if I don’t 100% love them. That being said, I’ve tried a handful of different drugstore concealers... the Camo Concealer from elf is the only one I have found so far that I actually like. Great coverage without being too cakey. A little bit goes a LONG way and it does cake up if overused. I typically use the tiniest dots of it under my eyes, blemishes, and places I want to highlight and then after I blend that out I sometimes use a couple of extra small dots under the eyes for darkness/bags. I can’t speak for Shape Tape, but the elf concealer is a big winner and a staple for me.

If I am a light in tape shape what color should I get in E.L.F.?

Perfect dupe! Doesn’t crease and amazing coverage!

I have both and prefer the elf. Stays on better very little caking and wrinkling.

I absolutely love the Elf camo concealer!!! I have freckles (I love my freckles) and when I conceal my undereye area for brightening it completely conceals my freckles. And any zit scars or flaws I may have! It lasts all day and doesn’t get cakey! My favorite by far. Oh and very little goes a long way with this one!!

Honestly....I’m a bigger fan of the elf!!! I have used both and shape tape is just so thick! The elf has the same coverage but thinner!

I’m a cheap makeup shopper. My foundation is Fenty but everything else is drugstore. I’ve never tried Tarte concealer but this ELF concealer is the best!!! I bought on a whim in Walmart and it’s the perfect color and like never creases.

Definitely the elf camo concealer!!! It’s amazing I’ve tried both and feel that the elf has a tiny bit more coverage and looks better under the eyes! I’m 21 but have very dark under eyes and creases and the elf is my go to!

Thank you so much for the review, I also have dry under eyes and have a lot of creasing with my Tarte shape tape so I now cannot wait to try the Elf concealer!

I like it but I feel the elf conclear is to dry or it drys to fast to blend I use it for my eyelids and I have to go very fast or else it looks chalky

ELF is the way to go. Great price point and it’s super comparable to Tarte. I have a hard time spending more money on something that’s almost the same. It is super drying so make sure you moisturize well after use.

Miya

The ELF is super drying. I agree that it dries too quickly to easily blend out without very carefully dotting little bits at a time or using a rose water dampened beauty bud. It has amazing coverage and is super affordable. I don’t conceal often... only when I do a big look, but it will be my choice when I don’t want to spend a lot on a product I don’t use often

Love the ELF concealer, easy to blend and super affordable!!! I have tried Dior concealer in the past but this Elf camo concealer is way better!!!

Wow!! Bought elf makeup for the first time because of this comparison and this is an incredible dupe. Loving this app..

I tried the ELF 16 hr camo after reading comparisons on Tarte Shape Tape. It didn’t let me down! Doesn’t smudge, blends easy, and really pops the areas I apply it for contouring and cut crease for eye shadow! Only complaint is I have to finish off with a setting powder over it.

Kat Medina

I love tart shape tape, the elf one isn’t bad, it doesn’t smudge but it’s kinda hard fo blend out since it’s so dry and it creases really bad even after powder

I think these two are very similar and I love them both. I will say the elf concealer is a bit more matte but doesn’t really cause any issues with my dry skin.

Nothing beats Tarte shape tape concealer. I’ve tried so many out there, and this is really the k of one that works instantly really good coverage matte and long wear without getting too caky. Do t buy that expensive of makeup, but do buy this. Use it every day, buy it 2x a year, and use mostly under eyes on eyelids and under eyebrows

10/26/2019

Amoonah

Both equally as great!

11/02/2019

Tarte Shape Tape is the best , hands down. Like the others, I’ve tried every brand out there. Drug store vs Dept Store.

11/10/2019

Omg I tried it and I almost cried , I dare say it’s better than tarte

11/11/2019

I love this concealer! Blends so well and doesn’t make me look cakey. For the price this is an amazing product.

11/19/2019

ELF is SOOO much better than the shape tape. I’m waiting to run out of 2 tubes of it so I can go back to the ELF.

I have used both and the ELF product is superior in every way in my opinion. If I’m in a rush I’ll even use it as eyeshadow primer. Love this product

11/28/2019

I haven’t ever used the Tarte Shape Tape, however I have seen it used in many videos/tutorials, and from what I can tell, the Elf concealer is an almost perfect match (it’s my go to concealer)! It’s super blendable, and can be full coverage or light depending on how you use it!

12/03/2019

YES! I’ve used both of these products side by side and they’re practically identical, from the formula down to the applicator! Both of these products practically set themselves, have the same full coverage, don’t oxidize, have a nice thick doe foot applicator, and last all day! In my case both kind of crease under my eyes, but it could just be that I need to set them with powder. Both brands even have the same name for my color match (I use light sand in both brands). This is about as close to shape tape that you’ll find in a drugstore. Awesome dupe!

12/08/2019

Elf has been my go to since I first originally started make up. I have to say that Iv been in search for a inexpensive full coverage long lasting concealer and ELF has really stepped up the game with this one. Absolutely love it
