Brandefy Review

*Jeffree Star is certified cruelty-free according to Ethical Elephant and Ccolor claims to be cruelty-free. Makeup Maven, Kayla, says: Jeffree Star Cosmetics in Androgyny is $45 at 2.52 grams while CColor Cosmetics in Unisex 3 is $11.50 for 2.2 grams. Both palettes have 10 eyeshadows and are packaged in very similar packaging. Androgyny is a bit more lux with its textured almost alligator skin type look & feel but both palettes have a decent size mirror, magnetic close & extremely close pan sizes. Sitting the palettes side by side you can see some slight differences in color. Androgyny’s shades are a bit darker compared to Unisex 3’s shades which are more muted. It’s only a slight difference & Unisex 3’s shades can be built up to be just as dark as Androgyny’s. While swatching both palettes side by side the formula feels the exact same - very smooth, and both palettes swatched really well. During application I was surprised just how similar these palettes really are. No fall out during application of either palettes and no real kick back left in the pans after dipping your brush in. Despite some of the darker matte shades taking a bit more patience to blend out, all of them did beautifully. The shimmer shades are extremely smooth and very pigmented. I applied these shades with my finger tips and they lasted on my lid all day. There is a slight more sheen to Androgyny’s simmer shades over the Unisex 3’s but nothing you really notice once it’s on your lid. During removal the matte shades in both palettes did stain my eyelid but it was gone by the next day. Despite the VERY small differences between both palettes they are extremely alike. I was actually very impressed with this dupe. If you’ve been wanting a cheaper version of Androgyny - this is it.
