Amazon Private Label Clothes vs. Spanx, LuLuLemon and More

LuLu and Summersalt and Spanx, Oh My! Whether you’re staying out or making a splash, check these private label dupes out. FYI- we do not get paid to do these reviews ;)

Spanx Moto Leggings vs. Amazon-Core 10 Women's Dare Devil Leggings

Similarity Score: 70%

Spanx leggings are a fan favorite and these Moto Leggings ($110) did not disappoint! They are full (faux) leather, high waisted, very tight fitting and sucked you in all the right places. Spanx makes a petite, regular and tall length and has a broad size range from XS-3X. The availability of multiple lengths is a huge advantage for people who don't like when their leggings bunch around the ankle. The Moto leggings are super fashionable and edgy and could be worn during the daytime with tennis shoes or dressed up with heels or boots for a night out.

Amazon's Core 10 Moto Leggings ($59) has leather accents on the front and back but were not full leather the way Spanx are. I found this to be the biggest difference between the two along with the stitching. These leggings are also high waisted and tight fitting. The fit was similar to SPANX and they come in a similar size range (XS-3X) but do not come in petite or tall lengths. For someone who is petite, these leggings would be too long and may bunch around the ankle. I found Amazon's version to have a more causal look since they are a combination of cotton and faux leather and the stitching resembles more of work out leggings rather than going out leggings. They are great for the day time to run errands with tennis shoes and for working out but they lack a certain chic-ness to be worn out to a club.

If you are looking for a more casual pair of leggings that are still fashionable, Amazon's Core 10 is a great way to save $50. But if you are looking for an edgy pair of leggings to be worn out, stick with Spanx!  Buy Spanx or Buy Amazon Here

LuLuLemon- Wunder Under Crop II vs. Amazon-Core 10 Women's 'Build Your Own' Onstride Run Capri Legging

Similarity Score: 75%

The LuLuLemon leggings had a much better fit and hugged around the calf, whereas the Core 10 leggings just sat on it and created a gap at the edges. We were impressed by the tummy control the Core 10 offered, but we wish it didn't have a drawstring- it's unnesscary and just runs the risk of getting out of place in the wash. Both wicked away sweat well in a hot yoga class and moved well at spin. If we could get over the fit, we would switch, but for now we will recommend this: size DOWN with Core 10 and size UP with LuLuLemon. Buy Our Pick

LL Bean Shearling Wool- Wicked Good Camp Moccasins in Brown vs. Amazon- 206 Collective Women's Pearson Shearling Moccasin Slipper in Chestnut

Similarity Score; 78%

These slippers appear to be very similar, and both have soft shearling wool. Big disappointment on the Amazon slippers- the interior lining separated from the sole after 2 weeks of wear in house. The LL Bean slippers scored bonus points because the sole was wrapped higher, making theses moccasins better for wear outside the house as well as inside the house. Buy Our Pick

Summersalt- The Sidestroke in Lava & White Sand & Dragonfruit vs. Amazon Coastal Blue Women's One Shoulder Gathered Side One Piece Swimsuit- Ladybug

Similarity Score: 83%

On the Amazon site, this one piece appears to be color-blocked, but in reality it is the single persimmon color. Fit-wise, the Summersalt suit sucks you in more, but the Amazon suit has nice rouching to slim without constraining you. Additionally, the Amazon suit is lined in black and has cups sewn in to prevent any exposure when wet. The Summersalt suit does not have cups. Both had very similar, high-end feeling material. Summersalt Deep Dive One piece in Deep Sea & Stingray vs Coastal Blue Women's Wrap Front Color Block One Piece

Similarity Score: 50%

The sizing is completely different, and the boob pads were more evident in the Amazon version. The Summeralt glided on top of the skin at the seams, whereas the Amazon seems to dig in a little more so the look wasn't as smooth. For style, stick with the Summersalt. For utility, the Amazon one does just fine!
