Target's Smartly VS. Method Household Products

Are you being smart with Smartly? Target recently came out with a line of low-cost items for every day, called Smartly. Their soaps and cleaners appear to be copying Method. With names like “Summertime” and “Blossom” for their scents, we could get into this. See what products you can switch to save on.

We compared the Target Smartly Line to Method’s products and break down where you can switch to save and where you should stick with method.

First up, hand soaps. All Smartly soaps lathered and functioned very similarly to Method. Many had less dye than Method, which is great if you’ve got that sensitive skin. Side note: holla at ya girl if you’ve also got sensitive skin and want some products tested. While all the soaps smelled pleasant to us, some did better at imitating the Method smells than others. Not to mention, the soap on the Smartly bottle is easier to pump out.

Let’s take a closer look at a few of the hand soap match-ups:

Smartly nails the lavender smell here, it is herbal and delightful. Testers agreed they would be making the switch! Buy Our Pick

Method Art Collection Palm Garden Gel Hand Wash vs. Smartly Smells Like a Meadow Hand Soap

At first, we thought this might have smelled like grass, or the Method soap, Sweet Water, but we were surprised to find it smelled like the lovely floral Palm Garden. Smartly also makes a soap called Blossom, but we preferred the Meadow scent to the Blossom for florals. We’ll take whatever flowers are growing in this meadow! Buy Our Pick

The fellas in your life may like the manly scent of either of these washes, and since Smartly comes with big savings, we recommend you pick up one of these for a fresh shower scent! Buy Our Pick

Method Pink Grapefruit Gel Hand Wash vs. Smartly Smells Like Summertime Hand Soap

Lovers of that pink grapefruit smell will be disappointed by this Smartly wash- it just smells like oranges. If you like oranges, go for the savings. It is interesting to note that Smartly also makes products that “smell like a citrus grove” and also smell like oranges. Orange lovers, rejoice. Pink grapefruit fans, you’ve been handed a lemon… er, an orange. Buy Our Pick

Smartly gives you a ton of product for a low price, which is great for our wallets, but also means some heavy lifting. We loved the smell and functionality of this spray cleaner! Buy Our Pick

The two dish soaps scored well for smell and functionality, but were lacking in the packaging department. We wish Smartly had that pump top for easy dispensing. Buy Our Pick

Ready to get squeaky clean? One Brandefyer has made regular exercise and monthly goal and that requires the use of a good strong body wash. We tested a few Smartly body washes as well.

Method Sweet Water Body Wash vs. Smartly Gentle Body Wash Smells Like a Meadow

We tried the Meadow, Blossom, and Summertime Body Washes. All Brandefyers were slightly dissapointed. The testers of Meadow said he felt like he was washing his body with dish soap. You’ll miss a creamy, lathering wash if you make the switch. He was also offput by the smell, but that seems to be a personal preference. Buy Our Pick

We also tried the Summertime body wash… at least we can pretend it’s still summer! The findings were similar to the Blossom findings- Smartly had a more pleasant scent and was a little less moisture rich. Buy Our Pick
