Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer vs. up&up Illuminating Daily Moisturizer

We wanted to like the store brand, we really did.  These products were very similar in ingredients, consistency, and smell.  The problem for us was packaging.  The up&up cap broke immediately, and we had to untwist the top to get the lotion out.  Whomp whomp.

So close, yet so far.  Why up&up pump, why?!

Brandefy compares off brands (e.g., up&up) to name brands (e.g., Aveeno) to show you when the generic is as good as the name brand, and to warn you when it is not. We aim to help you save time and money, and to have a good time while doing it.

We like to stay extra moisturized in the winter, and it's important to still use SPF because the sun can always peek through the clouds.  We were excited to try the up&up version of the Aveeno positively radiant face lotion.  They appeared to be very similar, but the packaging had a major issue- the cap broke off and we were unable to dispense the product.  We had to twist the entire thing off to get into the lotion.

Once out, they both had a nice consistency and similar smell.  They rubbed in well, and worked well throughout the day.  We compared the ingredients and found nearly identical active as well as inactive ingredients.  Purely lotion wise, we liked them both.

We recommend that if you do switch to the store brand, you be careful with the dispenser, and be ready to take it back if it does break.  Target has a satisfaction guarantee (as most stores do), so you should be able to get your money back if your dispenser breaks as well.
